Countdown is an advanced insecticide specially synthesized through the fermentation process of a naturally occurring soil bacterium. This insecticide is formulated using cutting-edge technology and is highly effective against chewing and biting pests, particularly caterpillars. When caterpillars or other pests come in contact with Countdown, it enters their body and disrupts their nervous system. As a result, the pests become paralyzed and stop feeding. Within 2-3 days, the caterpillars die due to starvation. Countdown is especially useful in controlling caterpillars such as Earias vittella and Diamondback moth (DBM) larvae, providing an efficient solution for pest management.
MODE OF ACTION
Countdown targets the pests’ nervous systems, particularly by binding to the chloride channels in their nerve cells, which are controlled by a neurotransmitter called gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA). This action leads to paralysis in the pest, preventing them from feeding, ultimately causing death due to starvation. Its unique fermentation-derived active ingredient, Emamectin Benzoate, ensures that the pests are controlled effectively with minimal harm to non-target organisms. The insecticide works both on contact and ingestion, making it a powerful tool against caterpillar infestations.
